Baseball Bisons Sweep Two Against Peru State

SEARCY - The Harding baseball team received two strong outings from its starting pitchers and defeated Peru State 5-2 and 12-2 in a non-conference doubleheader Thursday at Jerry Moore Field.

Harding (6-1) used a two-run double by junior Randall Hunt to highlight a three-run second inning in the opener. Hunt and Wisley Correa each had two hits to lead the Bisons. Junior D.A. Kremer (2-0) collected his second win of the season, allowing only four hits and one earned run over 5.0 innings. Brodie Brumley struck out three in two innings to get his first save.

Michael Skinner (2-0) surrendered only two hits and one earned run in game two to garner his second win. Redshirt freshman Tyler Thompson went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Bison offense. Harding tied its season high with 12 runs scored. Sophomore Will McDonald went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two driven in. The Bisons drew eight walks in the game.

Harding and Peru State (3-3-1) complete the three-game series with a single, nine-inning game Friday at noon.
